An importer needs more than a Customs file. The business also needs to explain what arrived, what it cost, what was sold, what remains in stock, what customers owe and how the records connect to tax and invoicing systems.
KRA's notice on validation of income and expenses says declared figures may be checked against TIMS/eTIMS, withholding income tax and import records from Customs. KRA's service information also says registered taxpayers in business are obliged to operate the applicable TIMS or eTIMS solution.
Do not use a spreadsheet to decide tax treatment. Use it to expose the questions, preserve the source records and make the handoff cleaner.
